Color Functionality in Reports (Layer Colors / Category Colors)

In the Profit and Loss Statement and Balance Sheet, Factview uses colors to make financial data easier and faster to interpret.

This color functionality helps users quickly recognize different sections of a report and supports the analysis and discussion of financial figures.

Category Colors (Fixed Classification)

With Category Colors, a fixed color scheme is applied based on the type of financial account.

The classification is as follows:

• Assets → Three shades of green

• Equity → Blue

• Liabilities (current and non-current) → Orange/Red

This view makes it easy to distinguish between the different sections of the balance sheet at a glance.

Layer Colors (Structure-Based)

With Layer Colors, colors are assigned based on the structure of the report.

• Each level or group in the structure is assigned its own color.

• Colors follow the hierarchy of the report.

• Especially useful for custom report structures and detailed analyses.

This view emphasizes the structure of the report rather than the type of financial account.

Switching Between Color Modes

The color setting is available from the Structure menu in the report menu (the middle button on the left).

Using this option, you can switch between:

• Category Colors

• Layer Colors

The button always displays the alternative color mode, making it clear which view you can switch to.

Practical Use

The color functionality helps you:

• Quickly identify important accounts

• Analyze financial reports more effectively

• Communicate financial information more clearly

This is especially valuable when working with large reports or presentations, providing a clearer overview and reducing the risk of misinterpretation.

Tip

Use Category Colors in the Profit and Loss Statement and Balance Sheet for a clearer visual overview. You can enable this feature by opening the Structureviews menu and selecting Category Colors.
