Report Layout (Structure)
The standard Profit and Loss Statement in Factview is based on a predefined report structure.
This structure determines:
-
Which sections are displayed, such as revenue, expenses, and profit.
-
How the figures are grouped.
-
The level of detail at which data is presented.
The structure is hierarchical, which means:
-
Figures are summarized at higher levels.
-
More detailed information is available within each group.
This provides a clear report that can display both summaries and detailed information.
Drilling Down into the Report
Within the Profit and Loss Statement, you can drill down into figures to view more detailed information.
By drilling down, users can:
-
View the underlying General Ledger Accounts.
-
See how a total amount is composed.
-
Analyze details by period or category.
Figures can also be displayed graphically, for example in a chart, making it easier to identify trends and variances.
Analyzing Data and Adjusting the View
The Profit and Loss Statement has its own report menu.
The same applies to:
-
Balance Sheet
-
Cash Flow Statement
-
Custom reports (Structureviews)
Using the report menu, you can:
-
Change the report layout.
-
Control which data is displayed.
-
Perform different analyses within the same report.
Examples include:
-
Displaying figures by Cost Center.
-
Switching between datasets (for example Actuals, Budget, or Forecast).
-
Changing the display format (for example amounts or percentages).
This makes the report not only an overview, but also an interactive analysis tool.
This displays the Balance Sheet using clear, color-coded sections, making it easier to distinguish between the different parts of the balance sheet and gain insights more quickly.
